Matt is the founder of Re-Christ Ministries.
Rev. Matthew H. Johns intimately knows the dangers lurking and preying upon America’s youth. Raised in a single family household due to divorce, Matthew fell into drugs and alcohol at an early age. Matthew attended church regularly as an adolescent, but never understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ until late in his twenties. After accepting Jesus as Lord (leader) and Savior of his life, Matthew met his lovely wife Ashley in a singles Sunday school class and has now been married for over six years. They have one son named Noah.
Matthew has responded to the call of ministry, Licensed in 2007 by Peachtree Corners Baptist Church, and received two seminary degrees. Matthew received his first degree, B.A. of Religion, from Luther Rice Seminary and his second degree, M.A. in Evangelism and Church Planting, from Liberty University. Matthew is also affiliated with the North American Mission Board as an MSC Missionary. Matthew is a living testimony of God’s amazing grace as he has overcame a dysfunctional family life, suicidal depression, drug and alcohol addiction, pornography addiction, and fear of failure all by the Love of Jesus. It is the passion of Matthew’s heart, in accordance with God’s will, to bring hope, acceptance, and understanding to the next generation as He worships the risen Christ!

Personal: Married to Linda since 1963 with two married daughters and two high school aged grandchildren. One daughter on board of Christian based not for profit ministering to women who are cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Second daughter a missionary in Honduras with Forgotten Children Ministries.
Education: BA degree Marshall University. 36 hours toward Masters Univ. of Akron.
12 hours counseling alcohol and drug dependents at Univ. of Akron, 40 hours crisis and drug intervention counseling through Kent State Univ., and Finance for Non-Financial Managers Wharton School of Business.
Ministry: Former Sunday school teacher for High school students, Young Marrieds, and Men. Conducted Bible studies for Singles and neighborhood groups. Former Chairperson Georgia Council for Prison Fellowship Ministries and former Director for State of Georgia for Prison Fellowship Ministries. For twenty five years have been involved in prison ministry at various levels in Federal and State in Georgia, Mississippi, Florida and South Carolina. Conducting on going Bible Studies at Hancock State Prison for last twenty years. Other areas have included cell to cell ministry in maximum security and death row units.
